Asmah's Orchid
I cherish the tranquility in this place. I particularly love the relaxing morning, with birds chirping just outside the windows. Every time, it feels just like being in Rembau.
That reminds me of my parents' brief visit to Bandar Seri Putra this morning. The agenda was to drop my passport on their way to Kelantan. Nonetheless, as there was spacious room in the car, my mother brought along:
+ breakfast
+ magazines
+ empty basket for the magazines
+ clothes
+ fresh potpourri made of our favourite orchids.
I miss you, Mak.
I miss Ayah's mischief too. Enjoy the pisang montel, sir!
I will be with both of you no matter where you are.
(And now, spiritually, I am on my way to Kelantan as well).

From Mrs. Aishah, with Love
The wedding was spectacular! It would not be so sans the prayers as well as the presence of people close to my family's hearts.
The Extended Chez Chembong and The Ketereh Clan
From Rembau to Brunei, all the uncles, aunts, cousins, and relatives of various names, offered both wishes and helps to my family. The wedding was more meaningful because of you.
The Gu
The Gu from Bukit Mas were reached Rembau early Friday morning. I wished I could see them earlier on, but the wet inai on my fingers made it impossible. Nevertheless, I can't thank you enough to depict my GRATITUDE for your presence.
The Seri Puteri Chums
Nana, Ainul, Elin, Elis, Nini, and Lat arrived right before the Azie the Mak Andam transformed me. Nana, Ainul, Elin and Elis were supposed to be busy with countless responsibilities at work and studies, Nini travelled all the way from Perlis, and Lat came all the way from Mentakab. Once, Azie complimented me on my radiant smile, and I told her that it should be contributed to my chums' presence. She said, "then, you will be more radiant tomorrow."
She was right. Seeing Faris, Shasha, Haz, Syura, Ayu, Wan Fatimah, Kamilla, as well as Saz with Azizul on my way to welcome Kamal induced more happiness. I just could not stop smiling as I saw Shelly, CK, Syikin, Tasya, Noyan, Ibah, and Tuty, who also came with Ina, a fellow friend back in university, afterwards. I wish I were Shakespeare, to be able to write more beautifully on your presence. More importantly though, this appreciation comes way deep from my heart.
To Syu and Ima, your text messages certainly contributed more charms to my day :).
The Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Chums
Oh, how could I forget one of my close chums cum bridesmaid, Mas. She did more than any other bridesmaids have ever done for the bride. Too bad it must remain a secret. To Tiqa, Di, Zura, Yati, Mimi, Farah, Edot with Naz, Yani with Abu and Nabihah, as well as Syida with Abang Raziee and The Bulge, thank you for being there.
The Sekolah Kebangsaan Bandar Tun Razak 2 Chum
Noorainie, it was so nice to see you again after 12 years!
Indeed, Kamal and I would like to thank everybody who attended the reception in Rembau and shared our joy. We certainly feel blessed.

Truthfully
I am happy.
He reminds me that truth is truth, and it does not require explanation.
This also reminds me to know myself better.
Thank You.
Hereby, I pray that you will be able to free yourself from your own trap, dear. Amin.

Togetherness
The plane that Mak Lang boarded must have landed by now. Pak Lang will be here on Thursday. Sadly, Nora, who was supposed to be with her mother today, could not make it due to work. I wished the rest of my Bruneian cousins could be here as well. Jauh di mata, dekat di hati.
Mak Long and Lida have driven to and fro Seremban-Rembau for the past months to assist with the preparation as they have had quite a number of experiences wedding planning. As always, Pak Long has been very caring, too, albeit his ailing health. We pray for your speedy recovery. Unfortunately, he told us that he will miss the reception in order to attend to important matters at work.
Mom sacrifices her commitments in Serdang, and she has been a great help. Kak Nita and Mak Su Liza, have been my virtual wedding planners, calling from time to time for the latest updates and lending their expertise where it mattered.
Bakhtiar will come back on Wednesday with Kak Ita, Anis, and my close chum, Syida. Cajib has to wait for his Friday lecture to finish before coming back though. He has done much anyway during the overnights on the weekends. So did the other brothers, Faizul, Cimi, and Cilan.
Double yays as the rest of my family friends from Melaka come on Thursday. More yays when other family friends from Kelantan, Kuantan, Perak, and Kuala Lumpur arrive on Friday morning. There are also other relatives who have offered their help as though I am their own daughter. I really look forward to seeing everybody indeed!
And, this includes my newly found friends in The Watering Hole. I hope to see you on Saturday.
I can't wait for Nini, Lat, Nana, Ainul, Elin, and Elis as well, aside from other Seri Puteri chums! And, of course, I am all excited to meet Mas, Tiqa, Di, Zura, Lampu, Mimi, Zam, Yati, Yani with Abu and Nabihah, Syida with Abang Raziee and The Bulge, Lina with Aly and The Bulge, and those close to me in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Not to forget, the chums from Sekolah Kebangsaan Bandar Tun Razak 2, who also reminds me of our Year Six Class Teacher, Cikgu Nazri, a fellow Rembauan.
The canopies have been erected since last Saturday. The male members of Chez Chembong have done their best to ensure a smooth reception. They even mixed cement to cover the ground with it for a wider merewang space.
The kitchen floor is occupied by tonnes of raw ingredients, waiting for the exuberant Chembong ladies and the skillful cooks from Melaka to turn them into sumptuous spread.
My future parents-in-law will be arriving from Ketereh tomorrow night. How I miss them.
Oh, I already feel the love of those who will be in Rembau in being and who are always here in spirit.
Thank you for being with us!

Juicy
Written on a paper cup (and I drank the final lines):
Prices went up. Shares went down.
Planning a long night out on the town.
Lost your dog. Lost your cat.
Someone sat on your favorite hat.
Thesis due. Got the flu.
Feeling lonely. Feeling blue.
Think you're skinny. Think you're fat.
Twisted an ankle avoiding the rat.
Missed the deadline. Made the headline.
Girlfriend hates your receding hairline.
Stressed out. Maxed out.
Crazy roommate kicked out.
Missed breakfast. Working late.
Pregnant again (this will be number eight).
Pumping iron. A weak heart.
High cholesterol. Too much fart.
For whatever the problem, dump the unhappy.
What you're having now is juice therapy!

Bliss = Be with the members of Chez Chembong, and this includes him.
It has been a beautiful weekend despite the hecticness. With the big day around the corner, Chez Chembong buzzes with myriads of activities. Me learning the art of campak-mencampak, namely cooking, while simultaneously juggling my mother's instructions on this and that, which all relate to the wedding; my mother, who is one of the most efficient people in the house, co-planning the wedding; my father, the seemingly relaxed father of the bride, configuring the most minute details for the reception; and my brothers and their respective family members, doing every thing under the sky for me.
And, not to forget, the new member, who is adored by the existing members of Chez Chembong as though he has been here yolks ago, whose presence makes our days!
Five days towards a new episode for Chech. The script has been written by God with flawless flair. Just be your-true-self.

Singapore Street
I have just came back from Singapore. Shopping!
Bliss, eh. It would be if it was the real Singapore. It was just Singapore Street though. Heh.
Singapore Street is a swirl of archaic-looking shophouses in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. Archaic they may be, but the goods there are sold at extremely cheap prices. Stop drooling if you are thinking of apparels, footwear's, or accessories as 'extremely cheap prices' mainly refer to stuffs for your kitchen.
I was actually there with my mother, stocking for the reception. How I look forward to the days when the villagers and the relatives would come to my parents' place for merewang, during which they help the host in the kitchen. Among common tasks are to peel and slice the raw ingredients, clean the utensils, and prepare pulut kuning as well as sambal ikan bilis petai for those who lend their hands. The house would be more exuberant with their merry voices and jovial laughters! A regular at such event in Kampung Berkat, Mak The Zizah, once remarked, "Eh, dah abih yo motong bawang ni? Tak soda see do. Leko dek boghak ngan kotawo yo!"
Yang capik datang bertongkat
Yang buta meraba-raba
Yang tuli leka bertanya
Yang kecil terambin lintang
Yang jarak tolak-tolakan
Yang pendek tinjau-tinjauan
Yang kurap mengekor angin
Yang pekak membakar meriam
Yang buta menghembus lesung
Yang lumpur menghalau ayam
Yang pekung berjemuran
According to my mother, there is more shopping to be done in Singapore Street.

Shhh
Listening to my parents, I feel nearer to them despite the fact that I am going further.
Listening to him, I feel the love and I pray everybody feels it the way it should be.
And now, I am listening to silence.

Back to Anlene Land
The Anlene-land again.
I fervently hope the Chocolate Anlene is back at Jack's. I also fervently hope I will be back in Rembau by Saturday.
More personal invitations to be done in Jerteh that I can't be back earlier though. Yay and Sob.

The Kickstart!
After the bashful Saturday, I had yet another mini gathering with the ladies from Seri Puteri years on Sunday. Nadey kickstarted the wedding galore for 98 in an eventful manner. Yes, all of us had 'a gala time', as Cik Aisah would say. May this continue at others' weddings.
June 4, 2005 will be Sabariah's.
June 18, 2005 will be mine.
July 16, 2005 will be Saz's.
On the way to the hall where Nadey's reception was, Nana and I were thankful that we didn't experience any stare from others. Donning traditional attires on board of LRT and carrying fancy packages on Sunday could be quite a sight. We forgot that it was school break, the season for weddings. Almost all the ladies we saw at Kuala Lumpur Sentral wore traditional attires indeed.
More about wedding. My parents were in our old neighborhood to personally invite the former neighbours to my wedding. I had a chance to join them there. My, I could almost hear my brothers' boisterous laughter as we played indoor table tennis, our family's style, in house number 21.
Off we went to other places in Kuala Lumpur afterwards to meet other relatives. The last house being Pak Ngah Rashdan's. The family's hospitality summarised the love and warmth exuded by the extended members of Chez Chembong. I love all you.
It was a wonderful weekend.

Satu Hari di Hari Sabtu
Queer Eyes for Everything!
A wonderful weekend at Berjaya Times Square it was. The lunch was delicious with gossips as dessert. Afterwards, Nana, Elin, Elis, and I decided to test the durability of the twins' newly bought socks for bowling. The place was still close though. Watching Star Wars or Madagascar seemed to be a better idea, but Nana needed to be back early. Hence the 3D movie tickets instead, which were cheap, thanks to discount for Digi user. Thank you, Nana, for being loyal to Digi.
While waiting for show time, we scoured Debenhams for a friend's wedding present. I even dropped some hints for Elin and Elis on what I lust after for my wedding present. Heh.
And, finally, the much awaited 3D movie. A scary 3D movie, to be exact. Scary it was!
Brief review: do not watch the 45-minute 3D movie for its storyline. Nevertheless, we enjoyed it tremendously for the good laugh it provided. Credits to the artists for making the viewing bearable.
My only wish after such fun was to leave the overnight bag elsewhere.
